Shelby Introduces...a V6?

V8 owners just might have to start cutting the V6'ers some slack! (nahhh...)
Shelby Automobiles has developed a 350+ horsepower supercharged V6 Ford Mustang, named the C6. They're looking to recreate the concept of the original GT350...a well-balanced, light-on-its-feet performance machine with the looks to match. You know a V6 Mustang is going to have inherently better balance than the V8 model, just because the engine is lighter. But now, it'll have the cajones to run with the rigs that used to leave it in the dust.
Question is, will people buy 'em? I think they will...

    No thanks, I would prefer if Shelby did't start putting his name on every Ford like he did with Dodge in the 80's. Anybbody remember Shelby Dakota's, Charger's, Omni's, Daytona's? It would be nice if I could only remember his Mustang's from the 60's.

    OK a Mustang with a V6 touting Shelbys name is going to achieve one thing...SALES!!!!!

    Why? Because your average Mustang GT owner (and most Cobra owners too) are not going to be able to afford a rediculously priced GT-500 that'll run around $800+ a month to finance...not to mention the cost of gas by then ;)

    So Mustang enthusiasts have 2 choises:
    (1) Buy a used late-model Cobra or GT (that's blown of course);
    (2) Buy a V6 (yeah right!!!!) because it is NEW & IMPROVED!!!!

    Please Mr. Shelby and Mr. Ford, do not embarass your loyal Mustang owners & DO give up your day jobs while you're ahead.

    Sounds to me like Carrol is trying to copy the Buick Grand National idea here. The late 80s Turbo Trans Am was one of the fastest f-bodys, and the Grand National needs no introduction. Maybe Bill wants his own legendary boosted V6 ponycar?

    The new GT-500 is packed with Ford's 5.4L powerplant. In the late 60's the difference in the GT-500 and the GT-350 was not the number of cylinders but the displacement of the V-8 under the hood. Isn't anyone begging Shelby to design a GT-350 with ford's 4.6L engine like I am? Lets face it, the only thing a V-6 is good for is economics, so why doesn't Ford and Shelby stick to tradition and build two unbeatabel machines using their two most proven V-8's.
