Foose Does Stallion Mustang
Posted August 23, 2005 05:27 AM by Curt Gordon.
Chip Foose, Hot Rod builder du jour, is getting his hands into the new car market with the Stallion. Produced in conjunction with Unique Performance, a high-end car builder/resotoration company out of Dallas, the Stallion is a machine that displays Foose's unique design talent.
At its core, the Stallion is a purtied up Mustang. The powerplant has been left essentially as is, with most of the effort going into the appearance, handling, & braking departments. 300 horsepower should be fine for most all of us, especially if we're talking about a boulevard profiler & not a brawling racer.
I don't know how it stops & turns, but boy, do I know how it looks. Like buttah, dahling. Gorgeous. This is the first Mustang bodystyle that can get away with 20" wheels (uhh..."dubs") without looking like a Hot Wheels reject. The lowered stance is perfect, hunkered down just right over that massive rolling stock. The black wheels give it just the right amount of menace, & will look good with any color car. The Baer brakes are more eye candy, & functional, too! Ohhh baby, are those the Eradispeed rotors? (I'm a wheel/tire/brake nut. You might have figured that out already.)
The body has several touches that set it apart; check out the nose, the tail, the hood scoop, & the scoops where the quarter windows used to be. I like the foglamps down in the lower grille, & I especially like the open intakes below the headlamps (I assume for brake cooling ducts).
Dunno about those Boss 302-ish black stripes on the hood that drop down the front fenders; can I get one without? Make mine red, please. Oh, yes. Must be red. Or blue...maybe a nice shade of blue, Sonic Blue. Ooh, ooh, yellow! Mmmm....white?Links: UniquePerformance AutoWeek

Oh damn thats a sexy car. Kinda makes me wana get a coupe instead of my forever dreamed convertable. So, how bout you just give me that one for free, i won't tell anyone, I promise. The only thing I would like different on it, would be the GT logo on the rear where the keyhole is.

the foose [boss] mustang looks good but I think the best looking mustang was the GT-R concept. also there is a company called roneale that makes a very clean take on elaenore and applies it to the 05 mustang for an extra 3-13K. for around 40K the foose just isn't worth it. buy the gt-500[svt].

I saw the "OverHaulin" version of this car at Chicane Sport Tuning in Torrance, CA. The car was the first '05 that made me look twice.
Nice job Foose!!!

I think this car kicks ass. I have been a mustang freak since i was about 6 years old. Over the year's for has surprised us many time over and over again, out doin them self's time after time. But with foose and his crew's help they have given the mustang a look and meaning. a job well done, another one well done foose!

I'm 16 years old and I own a '98 black Mustang Convertible GT, and I have to say that even though I'm not particularly fond of the '05 models, this car is beautiful. I always thought it would be cool to give a "stallion"-ish name to the Mustang. Although, black is my weakness. Black with midnight purple stripes. Beeutiful.

I agree, this is the first bodystyle that looks good with 20's. I normally hate them on mustangs but i think this does nothing but add to the quailty of the car. I like the hood stripes because it gives it that classic look and yet still modern. I am a foxbody guy but, two thumbs up on the new model!

Wow, that car looks amazing. I grew up on a Ford dealership and have loved Mustangs my whole life, and besides a 69 Boss, I think this is the best looking Stang Ive ever seen. I wish they had done some engine mods to it though, give it a bit of grunt to back up the looks

19 & in College,
Now that's what I'm talking about. I hadn't been too impressed with the new mustang but it keeps getting better and better. I own a 2003 Red fire GT and I love her "Sheila" to death. One day when I graduate Oklahoma State University I'll need you all to build me one. Keep up the good work!

This car is one of the most beautifull cars that I have seen since Elenore. The lines on this car are sexy and sleek. It seems like Chip Foose is the next Carroll Shelby.
