AR500 Ford Mustang by Wheel to Wheel Powertrain
Posted June 7, 2006 12:45 PM by Tim Beggs.
One of the latest twists on the Ford Mustang comes from Wheel to Wheel Powertrain using some exclusive patented technologies from Antonov Technology. It has a helical planetary gear set that results in a 1.36:1 ratio in the first half of the engine rev pattern that is tapped during aggressive acceleration and gives every day driving an edge. After the loud pedal is relaxed a bit, a centrifugal clutch disengages the step-up ratio in a calculated manner to mask its presence to the driver. There are other modifications to mention, so read on!

Underneath, there is a Ford Racing suspension system to carve corners and Baer brakes to bring the fun to a halt as needed. Appearance updates on the AR500 are a chin spoiler, duck tail on the rear, a deck lid trim panel, and a set of louvered C-pillar scoops from Classic Design Concepts. The lustrous finish is accented by a Sherwin Williams paint that has a crushed glass material for a unique inlaid look.

Rested comfortably on top of the engine is a Rotrex supercharger and a custom fabricated intake by Wheel to Wheel. A Laminova intercooler helps keep the charged air at cool temps to maximize the power produced. Check out more of the AR500 here.
