We still believe it's important to show the automotive world pure exercises in style that interpret key models reflecting the history and image of important brands."

The energy this car has is apparent when one of the drivers refers to the car as a "race car" because it performed exceptionally on the course. Ford Racing and the Shelby GT E-mail

2007 Ford Mustang GT

Ford has promised a special edition Mustang variant every year starting now. The Shelby GT will be the first variant, followed up by the 2008 Bullitt Mustang and so on. The 2007 Shelby GT is a retail version of the Shelby GT-H that is rentable at major Hertz locations. Expect the driving experince to be almost identical between the Shelby GT and Shelby GT-H. Changes between the regular Mustang GT and a Shelby GT include, among other things, two major components. Both of the major changes are supplied by Ford Racing Performance Parts or FRPP for short. The first, the Mustang "Power" pack helps the stock motor increase total power output from 300 horsepower to 325 horsepower. The second transformation comes in the form of the FRPP "Handling" pack which takes the mildly tuned stock suspension and turns it into a corner hugging machine. One of the biggest benefits to any S197 owner is these FRPP parts used to create the Shelby GT will be covered under the 3/36 warranty on all new Shelby GT's. So we can only hope that the warranty will trickle down to the FRPP catalog and apply to all parts installed by your local Ford dealer.

Bullitt on Target for Return in 2008 E-mail

Ford Mustang Bullitt rendering

As we continue down the path of Ford's "Way Forward" today, a variety of news was spoon-fed to us. One particular notable was the fact that the Ford Mustang Bullitt is slated to return to production sometime in 2008. The announcement comes somewhat as a surprise, as the prior run was to be a limited production set and many Mustang fans were expecting to hear news of a Boss, redone on the S197 (2005+) platform. What will Ford have under the hood of this particular caliber of Bullitt? A naturally aspirated 5.4 liter? A blown 4.6 DOHC? Wish we could say for certain, but we'll have to see what Bold Move Ford makes next to find out. If we hear anything, we'll keep you posted.

Roush 427R Ford Mustang Packs a Punch E-mail

Roush 427R Ford Mustang blue

ROUSH Performance keeps raising the bar in the entire aftermarket for the Ford Mustang. The latest and greatest from Jack's garage is the new 427R model that brings; you guessed it, 427 horsepower from the stable straight to the street & track. Based primarily upon the ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, the 427R has fewer modifications, but maintains plenty of pizzazz. An intercooled ROUSHcharger system adds 115 hp and 65 lb-ft of torque to the 3-valve 4.6-liter Ford powerplant. Tuning and taming this wild rendition is ROUSH's own engineered ECM calibration that is flexible to accommodate multiple exhaust combinations.
