The following pictures provide an insider's look at the Parnelli Jones special edition Saleen assembly line. You can see the cars being put together step by step. However, probably the most intriguing thing in the pictures is the white Mustang seen with a Boss-like stripe. Could it be a new Boss from Ford or Saleen? Only time will tell. We've been begging for a new Boss for some time now. Maybe Ford decided to listen, or Saleen is going to profit on what Ford couldn't produce. Come inside for the rest of the pictures. |

Earlier this year, we told you Ford had plans about resurrecting the Boss 302 nameplate and release yet another fantastic Ford Mustang. Well, Saleen has beat the makers to the punch with the astounding Mustang created by a joint venture between Saleen and Parnelli Jones. This steed for speed can be purchased at any Saleen Ford dealer or the Saleen store in Irvine, California for a mere $61,565--autograph included. Sounds good, right? Well, if it sounds good enough, you'd better get a number now, as only 500 of these gems are going to be crafted for the public's consumption. This new Boss 302 seeks to follow many trends from the past 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and it's no wonder why. Several nostalgic touches, consisting of the black side and hood stripes, a functional shaker hood, black decklid, rear spoiler, and louvered rear window cover, as well as 19-inch Minilite-inspired alloy wheels all make this Mustang of today resemble its ancestor. Lest we forget the performance amongst appearance--this Boss means it on the road as well as the showroom. More detail on this shining legend inside, along with a MotorTrend exclusive interview with Parnelli Jones himself. |

well as the outside. |

The Ford Mustang has more racing wins than any other Ford product in North America and is now positioning to cross the pond to Europe in order to continue its success. Crafted by Ford Racing, the Ford Mustang FR500GT and the Ford Mustang FR500C will likely soon be set to race in
the Federation Internationale De L'Automobile (FIA) GT
competition. Teams from Europe are already raising eyebrows at the cars, and can envision the pony cars performing very well
on some of
world's greatest race tracks. |

Ford Motor Company is set to release yet another limited edition Ford
Mustang, with the V6 pony car to adorn some slightly feminine touches. Potential thoughts at this point are to have
a white, black, and perhaps another colored car adorned with pink stripes on
the outside and minor pink accents (such as stitching and some trim) on the
interior. Sorry folks, no Playboy Pink
as the base coat. The order of this
décor is to generate proceeds to be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation. |

Several authors over the years have written about the legendary Ford Mustang and its continuing legacy. Much focus from the Mustang's past remains strong even today, with the ideas from Carroll Shelby still making a market impact. Wallace A.Wyss, a writer who hails from Detroit Michigan but who has made his home in California for 36 years, has written a new book entitled SHELBY The Man. The Cars. The Legend. Wyss, also is also shortly publishing Ford GT40 and the new Ford GT, specializes in Ford, having previously written The Super Fords, Shelby's Wildlife: the Cobras and the Mustangs, and DeTomaso: the Man and the Machines. Folllow a Q&A with Wyss below on the background behind his book. |
