The Full Metal Jacket Ford Mustang GT, the most recent H&R Mustang project, was unveiled at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas with astounding success.  Inheriting from an extremely proud lineage of high performance pony cars, the H&R ‘FMJ’ project – short for “Full Metal Jacket” which is a type of bullet – is inspired by the 1960’s movie Bullitt and its namesake Ford Mustang.  Some more subtle styling is used, but each and every modification is hand-selected, making this new-gen Ford Mustang one to long for.

 
Ford Club Directors Gain SVTOA Ownership

After over a year of dealing with Ford Racing, two directors from renowned Ford enthusiast club have been awarded the rights of ownership of the Ford-founded Special Vehicle Team Owners Association (SVTOA).  Ken Eber and Rick Kopec, from the Shelby American Auto Club (SAAC), have founded their own enterprise, the Specialty Performance Vehicle Club LLC to handler operations of SVTOA as well as new ventures that the entities may encounter.

As we’ve previously seen, first production cars like the oldest production Camaro we showed recently are big hits at the auction block.  Last year, the big story was the first production Shelby GT500, this year, Carroll was back on the block with the first ever Ford Mustang Shelby GT. In a strange repeat, the same winning bidder won the car for the same winning bid.  Six hundred sixty thousand dollars for his new Shelby GT.

There are numerous aftermarket companies out there that distribute body kits and styling products for the Ford Mustang, but few actually design, engineer, and manufacture their own parts internally due to constrained resources.
