The racing legend who brought (notably) the Ford Mustang as well as other Ford and Chevrolet vehicles out of mainstream and into the aftermarket, has decided to call it quits. After 23 years of tinkering with toys at his nameplate business he founded, Steve is leaving the helm in the hands of a superior management team that is sure to keep customers and the commitment to performance in line with the company's past and future objectives. Don't expect him to fade away entirely, however. Saleen is still a major stakeholder in the company and will most likely maintain ties and influential impacts to the Saleen dream in times to come. The following pictures provide an insider's look at the Parnelli Jones special edition Saleen assembly line. You can see the cars being put together step by step. However, probably the most intriguing thing in the pictures is the white Mustang seen with a Boss-like stripe. Could it be a new Boss from Ford or Saleen? Only time will tell. We've been begging for a new Boss for some time now. Maybe Ford decided to listen, or Saleen is going to profit on what Ford couldn't produce. Come inside for the rest of the pictures. |

Earlier this year, we told you Ford had plans about resurrecting the Boss 302 nameplate and release yet another fantastic Ford Mustang. Well, Saleen has beat the makers to the punch with the astounding Mustang created by a joint venture between Saleen and Parnelli Jones. This steed for speed can be purchased at any Saleen Ford dealer or the Saleen store in Irvine, California for a mere $61,565--autograph included. Sounds good, right? Well, if it sounds good enough, you'd better get a number now, as only 500 of these gems are going to be crafted for the public's consumption. This new Boss 302 seeks to follow many trends from the past 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and it's no wonder why. Several nostalgic touches, consisting of the black side and hood stripes, a functional shaker hood, black decklid, rear spoiler, and louvered rear window cover, as well as 19-inch Minilite-inspired alloy wheels all make this Mustang of today resemble its ancestor. Lest we forget the performance amongst appearance--this Boss means it on the road as well as the showroom. More detail on this shining legend inside, along with a MotorTrend exclusive interview with Parnelli Jones himself. |

A new trim package for the Ford Mustang
is soon to be released by Ford. This time, the target is the Shelby
GT500. For an additional $1650 option, white and black Shelby GT500
Mustangs get (surprise!) red stripes and red accents on the inside as
well as the outside. |

What's it going to be? Well, this Ford Mustang is certainly something special, with a mere 500 being produced in conjunction with Carroll Shelby. We, just like you, are going to have lie in anguish waiting to hear the definitive answer to this question about what Ford is putting to market next. With so much buzz in times past about the Parnelli Jones edition Saleen Mustang and the Shelby GT500/GT-H/GT Mustang, it's hard to think of what might come next. Check out the Press Release straight from Ford inside and stay tuned for some video coverage of the event this weekend. |

Digging up roots from Pompano Beach, Florida, Steeda Autosports has decided to move onward and upward to a new location for its headquarters and distribution facilities in Georgia. The Ford Mustang aftermarket specialist company has decided the new location and its relative position to two prime Interstate routes will make for a great spot not only distribution purposes, but for sales and service as well. Steeda President Dario Orlando mentioned that other sites were examined in Alabama, North Carolina, and a few other Georgia cities, but the ultimate choice was made to make camp in Valdosta.
