It has certainly been a year for special edition Ford Mustangs.  We've seen everything from the California Special, the Parnelli-Jones Saleen, the Shelby GT500, upcoming GT500 KR, and the Shelby GT just to name a few.  However, a press release was issued today that will trump anything that has been seen to date.  Not surprisingly, it comes from Shelby.    

These quick shots taken by Jim Dunne at Popular Mechanics show us a tailored Ford Mustang GT that might have some finishing touches we may soon see on a 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt.  After the successful run of the 60s throwback Bullitt, Ford is sure to continue the fan following of the car, along with a long-awaited modern day Boss Mustang.  This car (pictured above and inside) could just be a base model 2008 or a stripped-down Ford Mustang for the value-minded--much like the SN95 Ford Mustang GTS.  Stay tuned, as we'll keep you informed on what the grapevine brings.
