In the upcoming September issue of Motor Trend, it is reported that the Boss Mustang is definitely a go for the model year before the Mustang redesign in 2008. That's right, folks--from what has been told, the Boss will be back. Motor Trend is claiming that the powerplant have a 5.0 liter displacement and will produce 390 horsepower. Many Mustang fans are hopeful the 5.0 liter cammer engine will be used, but it is too early to tell at this point. Get the rest of the story over on StangNet.com. |

SVT employees explain just how much of a challenge the engine installation was because the GT500 had to be built within the same timeframe as other Mustangs and 5.4 liter engine had never been installed in a Mustang before. Street Scene has released a new replacement grille shell in order to move the grille lights on a late model (2005-2007) Mustang GT more toward the center. This hardware is very much a throwback to the Shelby GT500 Mustangs of the 60s and will surely make a difference in the Mustang's front. The piece is made from injection molded plastic and carries the same look as the OEM Ford grille for that "factory" look. |

Well the time has come for the goods to be delivered. If you recall the past auction at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, the first Shelby GT500 #001 sold for $600,000. The orange car with tungsten racing stripes rolled off of the assembly line at the AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, MI, on June 23rd, 2006. "On behalf of the management and workers here at AutoAlliance, I'm proud to hand over the keys to this Shelby GT500," said Gary Roe, President, AutoAlliance. "The Shelby GT500 is an instant classic and the AutoAlliance team couldn't be happier to be a part of the Ford-Shelby history." Carroll Shelby himself was waiting for the car to finish in order to personally hand over the keys to the winning bidder, Ron Pratte. Standing with past traditions, Shelby autographed the dashboard of GT500 #001, furthering its uniqueness and authenticity. Now, when does Mr. Pratte start his tour across the United States? I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him in the near future. |

One of the latest twists on the Ford Mustang comes from Wheel to Wheel Powertrain using some exclusive patented technologies from Antonov Technology. It has a helical planetary gear set that results in a 1.36:1 ratio in the first half of the engine rev pattern that is tapped during aggressive acceleration and gives every day driving an edge. After the loud pedal is relaxed a bit, a centrifugal clutch disengages the step-up ratio in a calculated manner to mask its presence to the driver. There are other modifications to mention, so read on! |
