Slithering…stomping….well, whatever way the 2008 Shelby GT500 Super Snake comes into view, one is not likely to forget one of the most impressive modern day muscle cars on the scene.  This S197 Shelby GT500 carries a tad extra—not just in brand, name, or price, but also under the hood: another 50hp more than the upcoming GT500 KR (King of the Road).  605hp isn’t much to sneeze at, whether you’re a straight-line OR a twisty racer.

Two of the most prominent blue-blooded nameplates in the aftermarket arena have teamed up to add more power to the Ford Shelby GT500.  This achievement is made possible by, you guessed it, upping the boost ante.  After the blower is installed, one can expect an increase to 605 horsepower.  Having the power is part of the puzzle—keeping it is the other.  This supercharger is backed by a 12month/12,000 mile warranty.

Jack Roush's ROUSH Performance team has boosted the output of the ROUSHcharger by 30 horsepower!  This power will surely be welcomed by every Ford Mustang owner out there.  Final figures range around the 445hp/418lb-ft mark, making this one of the most sought after aftermarket pieces that ROUSH Performance sells for the late model S197 Ford Mustang.  A smaller pulley and a conditional PCM adjustment help ram and judge more air to feed the hungry pony car.  Best of all, the new improvements are 50 state legal and are applicable to manual and automatic transmission equipped vehicles.  For all the specifics, be sure to check out the full Press Release.

Mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has just unveiled two new mobile handsets, the N81 and N95.  That’s great and all, but what’s more interesting is the partnership they have with Ford to create the Nokia Edition Ford Mustang.  Performance specifications (if there are any enhancements) have not been released, but the car is totally wired-in with Nokia gear otherwise.  Seat back mounted N800s are available for the two rear passengers and there is a center console mounted N800 for the front passengers to enjoy.  Each of the N800s are claimed to be control centers for an on-board media server that also provides streaming audio.  Streaming?  Yeah, the web on wheels.  A Nokia N95 provides the backbone connection to the Internet for this Ford Mustang.

That’s right. We could hardly believe it either. Just unveiled in Frankfurt, Germany by Four Motors (Reutlingen), this Ford Mustang packs a whopping 280hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a fuel sipping, tree hugging bio-diesel powerplant. Dubbed the Mustang GT RTD, the car is capable of a dig to dash at 62mph in 5 seconds and can reach a pinnacle speed of just over 155mph. Truth be told, the stats aren’t all that bad, considering the outer skin of the car is made from lightweight bio-composite materials, fabbed from vegetable trimmings—that’s right, table scraps can serve a purpose other than smelling up the trash can. The German Aerospace Center claims that the outer skins can withstand extreme stress and coefficient loads commonly found in spirited motorsports. It just goes to show, you don’t always know what the newest aftermarket specialty is going to be. You might find yourself presently surprised in the very near future.
