Roush Blackjack Headed to Barrett-Jackson

Posted January 4, 2007 05:11 AM by Matt Humphries.

Roush BlackJack Ford Mustang

Jack Roush of Roush Performance will be entering some of his vehicles in the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction for the first time later in January. The highlight will surely be the prototype "BlackJack" Stage 3 Mustang. Built as a testbed for an upcoming special edition, the BlackJack was constructed under the watchful eye of Jack Roush himself.

Put together using some of the highest quality components Roush has to offer, the BlackJack prototype was made to be sure the special edition BlackJack Mustangs would hold up to everyday driving. The limited edition of 100 Roush stage 3 Mustangs will be available later this year, but you can be the first to own one by attending the auction block this month.

The BlackJack prototype features a fully polished version of Roush's own ROUSHcharger supercharger that we reported on late last year. This helps boost horsepower to 430 as well as a respectable gain in torque as well. It is the fastest Mustang ever to be made by Roush. The BlackJack cars will also feature more polished underhood components to make the engine bay glisten.

BlackJack was driven to NASCAR races all last season to confirm its user friendly status, and drew crowds at all the races. Due to its amazing speed and sinister looks, it has acquired the nickname "Nitemare."

One lucky bidder will take home this prototype Roush, which is sure to bring in a large price tag. However, if you can't get the winning bid on BlackJack, Roush is also putting his highboy roadster and a Mark Martin driven NASCAR race car on the block.
