Foose to Team with Ford on Special Edition Vehicles
Posted November 6, 2006 12:39 PM by Tim Beggs.
Next year, Ford and Chip Foose are teaming up to bring several special edition vehicles that are sure to dazzle designers in competition as well as the public. The offerings will be available to the general public via local Ford dealerships; everyone will have a fair chance to own their very own custom creation by Chip Foose. A spokesman from Ford declined to say how many will be distributed, but we have found out the first vehicle to be modified will be the (best selling) F-150 truck. Rumor has it Foose said he'd love to play with a Ford Fusion as well. This could be a sweet deal indeed.

The customized vehicles are to be assembled in part on the Ford assembly lines as well as by third-party manufacturers, similar to Ford's arrangement with Carroll Shelby for the special edition Ford Mustangs bearing his name.
"If Chip wants to add a carbon fiber skull cap, then we can do that on the Ford line," Robert Parker (Ford brand car marketing manager) said. "But if he wants to have special Foose wheels on the car, then that's something that will have to be done by Chip's builder."
