One of today’s custom car crafting legends, Chip Foose, will soon headline Unique PerformanceFest 2006, a festival of classic, contemporary, and custom cars as well as motorcycles. Several racing and customizing displays and booths will be on-site for visitors to glean ideas from. The actual event is sponsored by Sam Pack’s Auto Group, and will be held on October 14th, 2006, at Unique Performance at 13950 Senlac Drive in Farmers Branch. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Progeria Research Foundation and Holy Angels. “With the support of Sam Pack Auto Group, Unique PerformanceFest has evolved into a celebration of all high performance vehicles,” said Unique Performance President Douglas Hasty. “We expanded the event with more celebrities and activities for even more entertainment value. We expect every make, from classic Mustangs and Corvettes to current production Aston Martins and Vipers, to join motorcycles, trucks, street rods and all kinds of motorized vehicles to help us celebrate the freedom of the road.”
In addition to Mr. Foose, other celebrities invited to attend include legendary automobile creator Carroll Shelby, musician Kidd Rock, TV personality AJ from Overhaulin’ and various sports stars. Champion NHRA driver Mike Ashley’s G.T.500E “Eleanor” drag car will also be in attendance.
Unique PerfomanceFest 2006 will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM, with admission being free to the public. Vehicle registration will begin at 8 AM and there are classes are planned for all makes and models of vintage and contemporary performance vehicles including cars, motorcycles and racecars. The show will feature a special corral limited to 100 entrants that will include a private meet and greet with Chip Foose and photo with him. Event data and vehicle registration is available online.
“I’m asking enthusiasts to bring their vehicles to Unique PerformanceFest,” noted Chip. “This will be a great opportunity for them to show me their special ride and check out my latest creations built by Unique Performance. I also look forward to presenting the ‘Foose Design’ award to someone while in Texas.”
