Foose to Team with Ford on Special Edition Vehicles E-mail

Foose BFGoodrich Mustang

Next year, Ford and Chip Foose are teaming up to bring several special edition vehicles that are sure to dazzle designers in competition as well as the public. The offerings will be available to the general public via local Ford dealerships; everyone will have a fair chance to own their very own custom creation by Chip Foose. A spokesman from Ford declined to say how many will be distributed, but we have found out the first vehicle to be modified will be the (best selling) F-150 truck. Rumor has it Foose said he'd love to play with a Ford Fusion as well. This could be a sweet deal indeed.

Obsidian CoupeR Ford Mustang E-mail

Obsidian CoupeR Ford Mustang

The black-gold colored Obsidian CoupeR didn't make it to the showroom floor inside SEMA, but certainly proved that too much is not enough while on exhibit outdoors. Poised just outside the main doors to the exhibition hall with no other cars around, the CoupeR made its mark and did it well with its 900hp, twin-supercharged engine and extremely aggressive custom appliqué. This 1967 Ford Mustang drew in the crowd by emitting notable style and function. Before one gets tired of looking at the outside styling of the car, some contemporary convenience makes quite an impact on the inside. Crafted leather seats, a sport steering wheel, and last but not least, an embedded 2.4 Ghz computer with a 60 gigabyte hard drive and a 10.5 touchscreen interface on the dash. "Unreal..." some might say; the people at CoupeR Design have made it a reality.

ROUSH Reactor Mustang at SEMA E-mail

ROUSH Reactor Ford Mustang

The ROUSH Reactor Mustang made its official debut at the ROUSH booth during the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback required over 2000 man-hours to complete and every detail is noteworthy and this car, were it 2-dimensional, could be framed art. A spectacular dark metallic green coat of paint adorns this vehicle owned by Doug Hoppe of Sioux City, Iowa, and was build by Ringbrothers to fight for best of show in the 2007 Good Guys Street Machine of the Year award. "The Reactor is a car build that we are really proud of, and I know that Doug (Hoppe) is thrilled with how it turned out," said Mike Ring, Ringbrothers co-owner. "We did all we could with the car, and are very excited to debut it to the world in the ROUSH Performance booth at the SEMA Show."

A major focal point for those interested in Ford Mustangs and the bountiful aftermarket was the collection of custom Shelby GT500s. Taking center stage, both literally and in attention, the three cars (one red, one white, and yes, one blue) easily captivated the audience and even the "competition". The red car is a GT500 dragster, ready to rock the mod-motor class. The white GT500 is a Road and Track car-a weekend warrior of sorts-one to drive to work, but tear up the track on Friday nights. The blue Mustang is a full-blown competition version of the GT500. Joining in the aftermarket glitz also was a black 40th Anniversary Shelby GT500 convertible and a white Shelby GT coupe set out on display.
