In the aftermarket race for the Ford Mustang, competitors are constantly seeking methods of improving original equipment to do more to pacify the Mustang fans’ need for power & speed.  Steeda has just recently announced a very progressive solution to powertrain control for the S197 Ford Mustang.  This new Adaptive Performance Calibration system takes full advantage of the drive-by-wire system in the car and takes it to the next level of preferred performance.

The latest results for the Roush sponsored Rehagen Racing team show some promising results, with the No. 59 and No. 60 finishing in the top 10 at Daytona Beach.  For some time, it seemed as though the Ford Mustangs would take spots 1 and 2, but some faulty communications during a late pit stop caused both cars some crucial time losses.  These losses would prove to be detrimental to the two Roush racers, but would still leave them finishing with decent points standing.

The persistent paparazzi lead so many trends, and the legend of the Ford Mustang is not one to be left alone.  Just this week, the 2010 Ford Mustang has been snapped under wraps by the folks at Priddy & Co.  From what we can tell, it appears to hold pretty strongly to the current S197 Ford Mustang platform, but just might have some influential applications from the Giugiaro Ford Mustang feature a bit ago in Los Angeles.  Want to see what it looks like?  Better stop in and take a peek!

How do you make a high performance special edition Mustang even more special?  Start with a Saleen Ford Mustang and celebrate Saleen’s 25 years of existence.  Saleen’s latest steed, dubbed the Sterling Edition, is based on the Saleen S302E Ford Mustang and will have the same supercharged V8 with an output of 620 horsepower and 600 lb-ft torque.

There is little doubt that an S197 Ford Mustang equipped with a V6 can lay down some pretty respectable statistics.  We showed you an S197 V6 Mustang that broke the 10 second mark, last year, and now, the aftermarket is fueling the fire with more touches to the sixer.  Steeda, one of the foremost to make changes to 4.0 liter, has now released the 2008 QS6 Ford Mustang.

Ford, Barrett-Jackson, and Shelby Automobiles have teamed up for the release of a hundred 2008 Barrett-Jackson Shelby GT Ford Mustangs.  The limited edition S197 Shelby GT coupes and convertibles are going to be released throughout Arizona’s regional Ford dealerships.  Based upon a one-off Shelby GT recently debuted at recent Arizona Auto Show, this Ford Mustang will tag at $39,000, with proceeds of $250 per car flowing to charity (Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation).
